On Monday 26th March 2007, the Forum was delighted to receive a letter from Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland informing it that the foundation had decided to fund a proposed ‘Pass In View’ project (news link). Most generously, the foundation agreed to fund 100% of the budget that the Forum had submitted in its application. The Forum is very grateful for this generous award.
The grant enabled the Forum to purchase eight (8) digital cameras, together with necessary accessories, and to engage the services and expertise of Daniela Balmaverde as tutor. One of the project outcomes is to enable women to learn digital imaging and photography skills (‘journalistic’ and creative) through digital camera training and image rendition techniques in I.T. - focused on local women’s lived experiences, views and perspectives.
The training element of the project has now been completed (not the overall project, however) - so, in the interim, the Forum has decided to ‘showcase’ some of the women’s work through this web page and its links.
